About Texas
The story of Texas
Texas is Friday-night football, brisket smoke, Gulf Coast beaches, Big Bend desert and the Alamo — an entire country in one Lone Star state.
History & heritage
An independent republic from 1836 to 1845, Texas joined the Union as the 28th state and remains the only state with a former national flag flown at the same height as the U.S. flag. With the state motto “Friendship” and a founding year of 1845, Texas carries a history you can wear on your chest — that's what our print-on-demand apparel is here for.
Geography & landscape
Texas stretches 800 miles east to west, from Gulf Coast marshes to Big Bend desert, Piney Woods to Panhandle plains and Hill Country to the Rio Grande. Covering 268,596 sq mi, Texas lies in the South Central region and runs on Central time.
Culture, food and traditions
Football culture from Friday nights to Cowboys Sundays, Austin's live-music scene, Tex-Mex and BBQ, and the Houston space industry give Texas an outsized identity. From regional flavors like Texas brisket, breakfast tacos, Tex-Mex to festivals such as SXSW and Rodeo Houston, the culture of Texas shows up in every collection we design.
Sports, colleges and community
Home teams like Cowboys, Texans, Mavericks, Rockets and universities such as Texas, Texas A&M, Rice anchor communities across the state — and inspire many of our Texas designs.
Parks, landmarks and wildlife
Landmarks like The Alamo, San Antonio River Walk, Space Center Houston, Big Bend and protected lands such as Big Bend, Guadalupe Mountains, Padre Island give Texas its outdoor identity. The state animal is the Longhorn, the state bird is the Mockingbird, and the state tree is the Pecan — all of which show up in our nature and park collections.
