History & heritage

Founded in 1790 under the Residence Act, Washington DC was carved from Maryland to serve as a neutral home for the federal government. With the state motto “Justitia Omnibus” and a founding year of 1801, Washington DC carries a history you can wear on your chest — that's what our print-on-demand apparel is here for.

Geography & landscape

The Potomac River runs the western border; the District occupies 68 square miles between Maryland and Virginia. Covering 68 sq mi, Washington DC lies in the Mid-Atlantic region and runs on Eastern time.
